365 Days of Hope
To spend time with Ellen is to walk away inspired! A short-sighted view of her struggles with ALS would suggest she’s just a shell, but through the miracles of technology, she can still communicate. She is still the same witty, smart, Type-A person she always was. This disease has robbed Ellen of her ability to move, to speak, to breathe or to eat without machines, but Ellen’s will is strong and her determination is to live to see the cure; to be there as her two young children grow up; to prove that miracles do happen!

Unfortunately because of all the loopholes in our system, Ellen and her family do not receive any financial assistance from insurance or Social Security. Ellen and her family desperately need your help! Ellen is totally dependent on others for even her most basic needs. Her daily care costs run a minimum of $500.

This calendar provides you an easy way to make a difference – please pick a day that’s special in your life and consider sponsoring all or at least part of Ellen’s care on that day. Your celebration will be even more special knowing your gift is truly helping to save Ellen’s life. Thank you for your generosity! Read more about Ellen

My cousin, Julie McKenna, forwarded me this request. We are donating on behalf of our baby who is due on November 17, 2008 -- in the hopes that a cure can be found to help Ellen and her family and make things less difficult on her kids. Hang in there, and be strong.
