Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Grandma (Tetaw), Friend, EARTH ANGEL…
These are all words to describe my Mom. My Mom is amazing; she lost her parents at the age of 12, was raised by her older Brother and his Wife and is the most beautiful Angel on this earth. She moved to Florida in her twenties, met my Dad and here we are today with a great family. My Mom is so loving and caring that when her sister was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 61, she would drive back and forth between Florida and Arlington, VA to stay with her, take her to treatments, cook and clean for her and also lift and keep her spirits high. My Mom also helped her step-daughter (my half sister) deal with the stress of breast cancer at the age of 46; she helped her understand the process and encouraged her through the fight.
My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2005, and had her first mastectomy January 2006. I never saw my Mom when she did not have a big smile on her face a hug and an I Love You, treatment after treatment, hair or no hair. I would always wonder how, but as I said she is a true Earth Angel. My Mom had her second mastectomy December 2007, still smiling and loving life.
Fourteen months went by and I am here today fighting with Mom as she is starting her radiation treatment for a spot on her brain and soon chemo by pill form for the spot on her lung. That is why I am writing this now, my Mom has medical insurance paid for by her (as she was self employed) and her company (BCBS) is refusing to pay for her chemo pills because they are in pill form.
PLEASE help my Mom in her courageous fight in anyway that you can, I appreciate you!
